The Ultimate Guide to the Best Food Spots on the Crystal Coast, North Carolina

So you are planning a trip to the Crystal Coast. –well I have the ultimate guide for you to make sure you try all the best foods there.

I love being able to call the Crystal Coast my home, and I am happy to be able to share some of my favorite spots with you. I know I am a California girl now, but when I visit home I know exactly what food stops I want to make.

I have so many good recommendations to offer, so get ready! Everything included from the best Waterfront spots to a variety of all different price ranges. I have got you covered!

Of course, we're at the beach, so we want to see the views. Let's start with some waterfront dining options.

Waterfront Spots

A classic staple in Moorehead City, the Sanitary is a waterfront restaurant. The seafood is amazing, with one of my favorite dishes is the fried scallops. I also want to mention because these spots are by the water and it is a more tourist town, the prices on average will range from 15-25.00 per dish. .

This is one of my favorites on the list because they offer a variety of dishes, which I appreciate. My favorite dish has to be the make-your-own tacos with fish or shrimp options. For seating you can sit inside the restaurant, which is decorated with unique decor like boat motors lining the walkway. You can also just to sit outside on the overwater deck with beautiful views of the sound.

The perfect waterfront spot for dinner time! Amos Mosquitos opens from 4:45- 9:30 pm Monday- Saturday. I love the fried seafood here as well as the desserts. Be sure to try the make your own s'mores. You can sit inside or outside on the deck overlooking the sound side. Also, make a note to get here 30 minutes before the opening time as a line starts to form early because it is just that good!

A Downtown Atmosphere

Next I will show you some spots that are located on the town.

Located downtown Beaufort off the main street, this spot can be hard to miss. Keep your eyes out for the red catering truck sitting outside beside the building restaurant. I find it hard to pick an absolute favorite, but this might come close. At lunchtime, they have a great selection of deli options, salads, and the yummiest soup of the day. Everything is made fresh and in-house. The dishes come out to shine at dinner time when they change up the menu and have incredible entrees for selection. The menu does change nightly, so you never quite know what to expect. One of my favorite dishes I have tried was the squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta covered in a tomato and balsamic vinegar glaze for an appetizer. I highly recommend this stop on your visit.

One of the more pricer restaurants on my list, this place is an amazing choice for a beautiful dinner time experience. Some nights they have live music playing, which adds to the atmosphere. Though it is not waterfront, it is right off of the water, and you can easily walk over to see the views. They have Raw/Steamed bar options which are amazing. They also have steak options and yummy fish tacos.

Located on the main street of Beaufort, Clawson's is a classic dining experience. I particularly enjoy the laid-back, beachy approach. It has classic dishes from Mac + Cheese to yummy fried seafood options. I especially love their salads which come with a side of banana bread. I definitely recommend this spot for a casual dining spot with yummy food.

A Sweet Treat

After dinner its time for a sweet treat!

Who does not want a cool treat after a long, hot day at the beach? This is my favorite stop for a sweet treat in Atlantic Beach. Offering shaved ice goodies this shop is located right off the beach. There are so many fun flavors available... my personal favorite being the nerd's candy. What I have pictured to the left is their coozie option for 8.00 which you can take back for a refill at a reduced price. If you're planning on staying a while this is the way to go as you will want to come back.
