My Top Four LA Bookstores
A Guide to My Favorite LA Bookstores
There is nothing better than walking into a bookstore and picking up a stack of new reads ready to take home and devour. One of my favorite things to do is read, and luckily Los Angeles has an amazing selection of local bookstores to choose from. I wanted to do a post highlighting my favorite bookstores in LA.

Skylight Books in Los Feliz
Skylight Books is such a great stop along the LA bookshop tour. The store features a tree growing in the middle of the store, making it feel warm and inviting and allowing you to get lost among the shelves. Skylight Books is a larger bookshop located on Vermont Blvd in Los Feliz.
One of my favorite things they offer is their Friends with Benefits Program. You get perks including 10% off items in-store, 20% off their bestsellers, and more. I recommend considering this program if you live in LA. They also ship if you cannot find it in the store, but they have it on their website.
Chevalier's Books in Larchmont Village
Larchmont Village is one of the most charming areas in Los Angeles. Located among the bakeries, salons, and boutiques, there is Chevalier's Books. My favorite time to stop by is during the Sunday farmer's market. The market occurs from 10 am to 2 pm every Sunday. After grabbing some fresh veggies and stunning flowers pop into Chevaliers for a few new reads.
The store itself is not big, but it has a great selection of bestsellers and up-and-coming authors. Every genre is organized well, and it is super to scan through and find your favorite author. They also have a very engaging website which features book club picks as well as discussions.
Village Well Books & Coffee in Culver City
Both a bookstore and a cafe Village Well Books & Coffee, offers it all. They have a wide selection of books. The store is large and very bright. It is a great place to read, work, and eat. It offers food items such as granola and overnight oats.
Their website features an amazing community aspect by encouraging you to join in on the read of the week or join live sessions at the store.
Stories Books & Cafe in Echo Park
Last but certainly not least is Stories Books & Cafe. A small bookshop and cafe in Echo Park that offers a wide variety of titles as well as great lattes and snacks while you read. They are open seven days a week from 9 am to 9 pm.
I always enjoy stopping in here to see what new titles they have to offer or grab a little snack and read on the back patio. They offer drinks such as espressos, lattes, hot teas, and lemonades. They also have snack options including granola, oatmeal, avocado toast, and bagels. On your next visit to Echo Park, I highly recommend stopping in to check it out.
